Our trip to London |
|
Last month I went to London for the weekend with my parents. On Saturday, we went on a sightseeing tour. I really wanted to go shopping in Oxford Street, but Dad said, You can go shopping when you're at home. Huh, parents! Actually, the tour was very interesting. We saw lots of famous places. Here are some of them. |
This is Nelson's Column. It's in the middle of Trafalgar square. People come here to celebrate New Year. There are some fountains and statues of lion in the square, too - and lots of pigeons! I fell in one of the fountains! It was so embarrassing! |
This is Buckingham Palace At the beginning of the 19th century it was owned by the duke of Buckingham, and it was called Buckingham House. Today the Queen lives here. |
You can take a ride on the London Eye. It's the biggest wheel of it's kind in the world. It takes 30 minutes to go round, and you can see all of London's famous sights from the top. |
I took this photo on Westminster Bridge over the River Thames. You can see Big Ben, and the Houses of Parliament. The real name of this building is the Palace of Westminster. |
After the tour we went to Madame Tussauds. We saw models of Daniel Radcliff, Justin Timberlake, and lots of other people. But the best thing was an exhibition on the kings and queens of England. It was great. After that we went to see Billy Elliot at the Victoria Palace Theatre. What a day! |
On Sunday morning we went to the Natural History Museum, and we saw the dinodaurs. After that, we had lunch in Hyde Park and then we came home. We never got to the shops. Ah, well maybe next time. |
